CRAFTED TO INSPIRE
However after a recent pub refurbishment, great care was taken to preserve the remaining original features and thankfully many of the majolica wall tiles, original etched mirrors and the beautiful half stained glass windows depicting the words “Fine Wines” & “English Country Ales” still maintain the ambiance of a traditional Victorian pub. With two open fires, it is one of the best places to be on those cold winter nights.
It has a large basement which was used as a firing range by the Ministry of Defence during both world wars, with Devonshire Street also being mostly destroyed during the second world war Inn 1888 remained largely undamaged.
As a free house, there is a selection of 10 draughts as well as a guest cask ale, supported by a premium range of spirits with a strong presence of London Gins and a fine wine list offered by the glass or the bottle.
YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED
We come regularly to Inn1888 and decided it would a great place for a friends and family birthday, we weren’t disappointed! Thank you Enzo, Gabby and Annie for a fabulous send off!
A blinding pub with fantastic pizza and amazing people running the place. Celebrated a 30th birthday here. The guys and girl behind the bar could not have been more welcoming and accommodating.
Down to earth bar staff in a beautiful old pub interior.
Lovely atmosphere. Very kind and polite staff. Amazing cocktails. The best Pizzas in the area for sure. Literally one of the best places I've being for long time!
